The Tombori River Cruise in Osaka promises a unique and relaxing experience! Glide past Osaka’s picturesque cityscape, illuminated at night, creating a magical ambiance. We loved that we could get incredible photographs and unique perspectives of the Glico Running Man up close! On the day, keep an eye out for the booth located right beside the Daiou Cheese Juu-en Pan cheese coin stand to pick up your ticket!

3. Osaka Castle's Timeless Grandeur
Osaka Castle is an iconic symbol of Japan’s rich history and architectural masterpiece. You can explore the castle in so many fun ways! We started outside of the castle walls boarding the Osaka Gozabune Boat, while learning about the castle’s stone walls and history of the war from a local guide. The boat was so cute and lasted about 20 minutes.

Next, we entered the main grounds surrounding the main tower for the perfect picture opportunity! There are so many beautiful angles to capture the castle and gold-leaf detailing.

You will need a ticket to the Osaka Castle Museum to enter the main tower. We explored a diverse range of exhibits on multiple floors. It ranges from samurai armor and weaponry to intricate artifacts from the Edo period. The museum’s interactive displays provide an immersive experience and enjoyed learning about the castle’s significance throughout different historical eras.
The top floors of the museum are where the observatory deck is located. It offers breathtaking panoramic views of Osaka. There are informative displays, multimedia presentations, and knowledgeable guides to understand what you’re observing!

Universal Studios Japan is a thrilling and magical theme park that will take you into the worlds of blockbuster movies and beloved characters. There are many attractions, from heart-pounding rides to immersive shows, the park brings iconic films and franchises to life.
You can experience the wizardry of Harry Potter at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Enter the gamers paradise of Super Nintendo World, or embark on Jurassic Park-themed adventures and thrilling rides right here in Osaka Japan.
We highly recommend booking tickets in advance to avoid very long ticket lines on the day. You will need to purchase the standard Universal Studios Japan Studio Pass which is the general admission ticket.
We purchased the express pass tickets because of how busy it gets. There can be one-two-hour wait times for a lot of the popular rides, and we wanted to ensure we would make the most of the day. We can tell you from experience that it was worth every penny. We got to enjoy almost every ride in the park with the exception of the children’s rides.
You can check out the express passes below which are an additional cost to the Universal Studios Japan Pass. The difference between the two express passes is the specific rides included in the express pass. Therefore, depending on which rides you want to prioritize will determine which express pass is best for you.

Koji Kinutani Tenku Art Museum is located on the 27th floor of the Umeda Sky building. It features massive colorful 3D paintings, a workshop space & a cafe where you can have a coffee with a view. I wouldn’t consider us art aficionados however, we absolutely loved the art and breathtaking views of Osaka Bay. The creations of Koji Kinutani are truly remarkable and worth a visit!

Explore the vibrant soul of Osaka at Shinsekai! Immediately we were drawn in by the lively neighborhood which is closeby to many other great attractions within walking distance of the main strip.

This area is known for its traditional eateries, like the renowned Kushikatsu restaurants. Kushikatsu is known as Osaka’s iconic deep-fried skewer dish, featuring meat, seafood, or vegetables. It’s typically served with a tangy dipping sauce, offering a delightful taste of Japanese street food culture.
We recommend Kawachiya which is a top-rated restaurant in the area, it was surprisingly a nice light meal before heading to the Tsutenkau tower which stands tall in the distance as we walked down the main strip.

9. Conquering Tsutenkaku Tower & Tower Slider
Tsutenkaku Tower is a super fun attraction located in the heart of Shinsekai. Transitioning from ground level to the top, you can soak in Osaka’s vibrant energy from 103 meters (338 feet) in the air. Once you have had enough of observing, make your way down to join the line specifically for the tower slide!

Experience an exhilarating Tsutenkaku Tower’s 60-meter-long slide. Beginning from the tower’s third floor, located 22 meters above ground level, the slide winds its way around the exterior of the tower and swiftly lands on the basement floor, 4.5 meters below ground. This thrilling ride takes just about 10 seconds, it was our first sliding experience town a tower!
To enjoy the slide, you need to use a slide sack, meet the minimum height requirement of 120 cm, weigh under 100 kg, and be between 7 and 65 years old. The slide costs an additional 1,000 yen or $6.50 USD for one slide.

It’s been standing for a thousand years, and you can really sense the deep history.
