How To Get To Busan Tower?

Busan Tower is located on top of a hill that is about 120 meters above sea level. However, before getting to the top you must find the escalators. The starting point is to look for the tower entrance at Yongdusan Park Escalator.

The Yongdusan Park Escalator makes you feel like you’re in a galactic world as you approach the top of Busan Tower.

Once you exit the escalator area you can clearly see Busan Tower (Diamond Tower). You’re getting closer! Unfortunately, the escalators stop here. This staircase will lead you to the top of Yongdusan Park where the entrance of Busan Tower is located.

Busan Tower Ticket Office & Price

The Busan tower ticket cost is 12,000 KRW for adults and 9,000 KRW for children. This is approximately USD 8 and USD 6 respectively.

We didn’t have to purchase a Busan Tower Ticket because it was included in our Visit Busan Pass.  We purchased the 48-Hour Busan Discover Pass. During our trip to Busan, we completed 238,000 KRW (~ USD 180) worth of attractions. We paid only 69,000 KRW (~USD 52) over 48 hours and used the pass to see the Diamond Tower.

Before entry, the staff will ask you if you want to opt in and play a game. The game includes multiple sections of the observatory in search of QR codes to find a series of numbers. Once you collect them all you can redeem a prize at the end. It sounded easy enough, so we did it!

Busan Tower Observatory

The Diamond Tower’s main elevator will take you in a couple of seconds. There are 4 main sections of the tower observatory to note which we will discuss below.

busan tower observatory section

Busan Tower - Section 1

This is the best section to see the panoramic views of Busan’s skyline, mountain, and coastline. This is the area to take photographs of Busan through the glass windows. Surprisingly wasn’t very busy when we arrived in the late afternoon.  We thought the other areas around Busan Tower would look like this too but nope, they are very different. Let’s move onto the next section of the tower.

Busan Tower - Section 2

This is the submarine-themed section of Busan Tower. You will find interactive activities that include taking photos of yourself and then seeing your face appear on screen. Kids would surely love this section. Then you’ll head down a series of stairs to the third section.

Busan Tower - Section 3

Section 3 of the Busan Tower is one vibrant, colorful room. It honestly resembled a paint color palette. There is a Busan Tower sign where you can take a candid photo.

Busan Tower - Section 4

Walk into the Glow In The Dark Room. This is one of the coolest rooms inside the Busan Tower. You will see a lot of neon lights and artsy murals. It sure does look like the city of Busan with fireworks exploding in the air.

Busan Tower - Complete The Game

After you finish exploring all the rooms inside Busan Tower, it’s now time to complete the game! Make your way downstairs to the game portal to input all your numbers.

You will have received numbers by scanning the barcodes. Once you have all your numbers, type them into the ticket machines where you entered. Subsequently, retrieve your reward coupon from the machine. You will need both the original tickets and the reward ticket to redeem the prize.

We lost our original ticket but they allowed us to choose a prize that was randomized. The prizes that we could win were a pencil, hand sanitizer wipes, and a Busan Tower Soju glass.

Our Thoughts

Overall Thoughts:

Busan Tower is a conveniently located attraction that provides visitors with impressive views of Busan’s cityscape, ocean, and mountains. As a couple who enjoys visiting observatories, we appreciated the unexpected fun of the different sections and the cute addition to the mission. However, we do wish we were informed that the first section was the main observatory, as we would have liked to spend more time there. Overall, we do not regret this experience, especially because we did it with our Busan Discover Pass.

Value for Money:

At 12000 KRW (~$9 USD), Busan Tower offers great value for money compared to other observatories we have visited. We enjoyed it more than N-Seoul Tower, which provides a helpful reference point for those who have been there. While Busan X the Sky has a different vibe and is our top choice for observatories, it is also double the price, so it’s worth keeping in mind if you’re on a budget.

How much did we like this attraction?
We really enjoyed it!
