Language

The main language in Cambodia is Khmer. English is not widely spoken in rural areas, it may be understood and spoken by some locals in urban areas, especially among the younger population and those working in the tourism industry.

Entry Requirements

Upon arrival, you will receive a 30-day tourist visa for $30 USD. You can apply for an e-visa in advance. You can extend it for two more 30-day periods for an extra fee. Proof of vaccination or test results are not required for entry.

Currency

The main currency in Cambodia is the Cambodian Riel (KHR), although the United States Dollar (USD) is also widely accepted and used for everyday transactions. The most common denominations include 100៛, 200៛, 500៛, 1,000៛, 2,000៛, 5,000៛, 10,000៛, 20,000៛, 50,000៛.

Outlets

The power plugs in Cambodia typically use Type A, Type C, or Type G sockets, with a standard voltage of 230V and a frequency of 50Hz. It is also beneficial to carry a universal adapter to ensure compatibility with a variety of outlets and is useful for many international destinations.

Cambodia does not currently have a tax refund system for tourists.

When is the best time to visit Cambodia?

The best time to visit Cambodia is during the Peak Season, which spans from November to February. This period offers cooler and drier weather with temperatures between 21°C to 30°C (69°F to 86°F), ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the country’s top attractions and sites.
