Best Time to Visit Busan

Busan is a year-round tourist destination with various attractions during each season. The spring season (April to June) is distinguished by beautiful cherry blossoms and comfortable weather. While the summer monsoon (rainy) season lasts from July through August, it also delivers sunny beach days. The autumn season (September to November) offers pleasant weather and vibrant foliage. Those who like milder weather and festive festivities will find winter (December to February) to be preferable.

When selecting the ideal time to appreciate Busan’s varied offerings, take your interests and other activities into account.

Where to Stay in Busan

Busan offers a wide variety of beautiful accommodations, but before we dive into our hotel recommendations, we’ve provided the three best areas to stay in when visiting Busan. Search the following areas when you are looking for accommodation in Busan. It is close to most attractions and main necessities.

Haeundae is arguably the most well-known and visited neighborhood by tourists. Home to the famous Haeundae Beach, which is surrounded by hotels, resorts, restaurants, and bars. Busan X The Sky, Haeundae Market, and the Busan Aquarium are also nearby.

  • Luxury: The Westin Chosun Busan: A five-star luxury hotel offering gorgeous rooms, stunning fine dining options, a serene pool, and a prime beachfront location.

A lively neighborhood well known for its street food scene, shopping, and cultural attractions, Nampodong is situated in the center of downtown Busan. It is a great option for those interested in visiting places like the Jagalchi Fish Market, Busan Tower, and the Gamcheon Culture Village.

  • BUDGET: Busan Backpackers: Offers affordable accommodation in the centre of Nampodong, close to vibrant street food, and cultural attractions of the area.

Home to Gwangalli Beach and Milac The Market, it’s another popular choice in the middle of Haeundae and Nampodong. It offers a mix of modern accommodations, a vibrant nightlife scene, and scenic views of the Gwangan Bridge. If you’re interested in attractions in all three areas this could be an attractive option

  • BUDGET: Kyungsung Hostel: Affordable, provides basic and convenient access to Gwangalli Beach and local eateries and many food options.

Our Experience & Guide

Songdo Beach is a blend of natural beauty and historical significance being Korea’s first public beach. It’s quite incredible how there are many unique attractions near the beach including the Songdo Cloud Trails and Busan Air Cruise which spans an incredible 1.62 km offering stunning views of the coast and skyline. The Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge can be accessed by taking the Busan Air Cruise over the water and is absolutely breathtaking! Let’s walk through everything you need to know.

Songdo Beach & Songdo Cloud Trails (Cloud Walk)

We started our day by visiting Songdo Beach first thing in the morning! The beach itself was so peaceful, and was not as busy as the popular Haeundae Beach.

You can walk over to the Songdo Cloud Walk for a great photo opportunity of the windy skywalk with cable cars gliding over the picturesque coastline in the backdrop. There is no charge to walk across the cloud walk and is located right beside Songdo Station where you will catch the Busan Air Cruise!

The Busan Air Cruise entrance is located a 5-minute walk from the Songdo Cloud Trails. We recommend arriving before Noon as peak traffic time increases as the afternoon progresses.

Once you’re inside the air cruise station, make your way to the ticket counter to scan your pre-booked ticket barcode and then make your way upstairs using the escalators to the cable car loading dock.

After boarding the Busan Air Cruise, you’ll embark on a 1.62 km cable journey from Songnim Park in the east of Songdo Beach to Amnam Park in the west. You will glide at heights reaching 86 meters and take in breathtaking views of Songdo Beach, Songdo Beach Cloud Trails, and the Namhangdaegyo Bridge.

After arriving at Amnam Park, we strolled for about 5 minutes to reach The Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge. It’s a cherished Busan landmark with deep spiritual roots and stunning architecture. You will come across a ticket office where everyone will pay 1,000 KRW cash to enter the bridge. The elevation of the suspension bridge spanning across to Dongseom Island provides an incredibly picturesque photo opportunity! After enjoying your time at the suspension bridge, you can take the Busan Air Cruise back to Songnim Park. The initial Busan Air Cruise ticket you purchased includes the return ticket!

Our Thoughts

What we loved so much about the Songdo Beach area is the abundance of attractions located within walking distance proximity. The attractions and sites offer diverse and thrilling experiences to capture the skyline from many different angles. Songdo Beach’s Cloud Walk combines tradition and modernity, while the Busan Air Cruise provides a unique aerial perspective from 86 meters above. The architectural Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge adds a picturesque backdrop overlooking aqua-blue waters. The best part is that we were able to see all those attractions before Noon and then head over to the nearby Gamcheon Culture Village & Busan Tower all on the same day! It was one incredible day in Busan to remember!

How much did we like this attraction?
Incredibly picturesque
